The Best Deal EVER when it came to my television service was having access to all of those music channels. You see, MTV ain’t what it used to be and they don’t play music anymore. Music television doesn’t play music. So yeah, I was pretty psyched to have all those channels and the one that I always listen to the most is the jazz channel for Boney James.
For those of you not in the know, Boney James is one of the hottest smooth jazz performers to come out of the industry in the last decade. His mastery of the saxophone is legendary and the man doesn’t just play an instrument – he conveys a personalized message to each and every one of his listeners. He’s talking to you.
Often accompanied by some urban groove and stone cold beat, his work is evocative of inner city living. The struggle and the strife mixed with the unseen beauty. You don’t just picture a city in your mind; you picture a forgotten fortress where flowers still bloom.
Boney James is one of the most influential jazz performers of our time and the savior of a genre which, up until his time, was likened to elevator music more than anything else.
